Release agent Mikon® 305, 0.76 kg
Release Agent Mikon® 305 is a solvent-based universally applicable mould release agent for the processing of thermoset resins. Thanks to contained slip additives, it is especially suited when highly complex moulds are being used. The moulded parts exhibit a high gloss surface finish. Since Release Agent Mikon® 305 adheres strongly to the mould, the product allows for straightforward post-processing of moulded parts.
Technical Data:
Composition: Mixture of resins in solvent
Appearance: Colourless liquid
Density: approx. 0.76 g/cm³
Flashpoint: < 0 °C
Consumption:
Depending on the microporosity of the mould surface, approx. 30 g/m². One can is sufficient for approx. 25 m².
Application fields:
Release Agent Mikon® 305 is generally suited for the processing of thermoset resins, such as polyester, epoxy and phenolic resins. It has been proven to be particularly effective in the processing of prepreg sheets.
Application:
Release Agent Mikon® 305 should only be used in well-ventilated areas.
Cleaning:
Make sure that moulds have been thoroughly cleaned prior to the application of Release Agent Mikon® 305. Depending on the degree of contamination, we recommend using a fast-evaporating solvent to ensure all residues of fat and wax have been eliminated.
Sealing:
New moulds or moulds with a porous surface need to be sealed with an appropriate mould sealer e.g. Mikon® 199 prior to the application of Release Agent Mikon® 305. Since plastic moulds are almost always porous, they should always be sealed
Processing:
Apply with a cloth (e.g. our Cleaning cloth) or brush. Allow to flash off for approx. 15 seconds and spread or wipe over lightly with a clean and dry cotton cloth, then allow to flash off for 5 minutes (three further applications for new moulds), then wait 15-20 minutes before using the mould. The processing should be done at approx. 20 °C in well-ventilated areas.
Storage:
This product should be stored in tightly sealed containers and has to be protected from frost, heat and direct sunlight. If these rules are obeyed, the product can be stored for at least 24 months.
