UP Laminating Resin System for GRP, Boatbuilding and Mould Making

This work pack contains cobalt pre-accelerated UP laminating resin SYNOLITE 5690-P-1 (orthophthalic acid based) as well as a universal MEKP hardener (50% methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) for reliable cold curing of polyester resins.

The medium-reactive, low-viscosity and slightly thixotropic polyester resin is suitable for hand lay-up, spray-up processes, and applications in boatbuilding, tank construction, mould making, and GRP components. Reduced styrene evaporation supports easier processing, including on vertical laminates.

The low-viscosity, colourless MEKP hardener, in combination with the cobalt accelerator already contained in the resin, ensures uniform, low-stress curing.

MEKP mixing ratio: 1–3%
Pot life (at 2% MEKP): approx. 20 minutes
Processing temperature: ≥ 18 °C

Components must be dosed separately. If additional accelerator is required, it must always be mixed into the resin before adding the hardener.
