Glass fabric 600 g/m² (Interglas 04367, plain weave), width 100 cm

USA: width 39.37", weight 17.7 oz/yd²

This glass fabric was specifically developed for mould and tool making.

Its high thread count creates a dense fabric structure, while the highly drapable HD weave makes it easier to conform to radii and complex contours.

With a laminate thickness of approximately 0.75 mm per layer, the required wall thickness can be achieved with relatively few plies. This makes the fabric particularly suitable for producing stiff and durable moulds and tools.

Product Description

In mould making, a reinforcement fabric must do more than simply provide strength. It should conform well to the mould, lie smoothly over radii and contours, and allow the required laminate thickness to be built up efficiently.

The Interglas® 04367 was developed specifically to meet these requirements.

Compared with conventional glass roving fabrics, it is woven from finer yarns with a significantly higher thread count. This results in a much denser fabric structure.

Despite its high areal weight, the special HD weave provides excellent drapability. The fabric conforms easily to radii, edges and complex component geometries.

With a laminate thickness of approximately 0.75 mm per layer, the required wall thickness is built up much faster than with lighter glass fabrics. This can reduce the number of plies required, especially when manufacturing large moulds.

The FK 144 finish has been developed for epoxy resin systems. It ensures rapid fibre wet-out while making the dry fabric easy to cut and handle.

Typical Applications

Interglas® 04367 is primarily used for professional mould and tool making. Its main advantages are excellent drapability, a high thread count and rapid laminate build-up.

It is also suitable for model making, prototype construction and technical laminate components requiring a heavy yet highly conformable glass fabric.

Processing

The FK 144 finish has been specifically developed for epoxy resin systems. It promotes rapid fibre wet-out while making the dry fabric easy to cut and handle.

Thanks to its excellent drapability, the fabric conforms easily to radii and complex contours. Its high areal weight also helps reduce the number of plies required when building thicker laminates.

When is this fabric the right choice?

This glass fabric is the right choice whenever excellent drapability, a high thread count and rapid laminate build-up are required.

Its advantages are particularly evident in mould and tool making, where high laminate stiffness must be achieved with as few plies as possible.

If material cost is the primary concern and a coarser fabric structure is acceptable, a 580 g/m² glass roving fabric may be the more economical alternative.
