Peel ply has been well-known for aircraft construction for many years.

Thermofixed plain weave peel ply made from washed polyester, designed for use with phenolic, polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy resin systems. This high-strength peel ply leaves a fine-rough surface as a pre-treatment for further coatings or for subsequent bonding.
The fabric contains no release agent or silicone. It is made from a synthetic fibre (PES) which allows a contamination-free surface.
