PO180 is an extruded three-layer film with particularly high conformability. With an elongation at break of approximately 360%, it is especially suitable for parts with complex contours and pronounced undercuts.
The film consists of two self-releasing copolymer outer layers and a copolyamide core layer. It can be used in direct contact with the resin and is suitable for both vacuum bagging and vacuum infusion processes.

Applications
PO180 is used as a vacuum bagging film in the manufacture of fibre-reinforced composite parts. Due to its high elongation and conformability, it is particularly suitable for moulds and components where the film must closely follow complex three-dimensional contours.

Processing
The vacuum bagging film is positioned over the prepared vacuum lay-up and sealed airtight to the mould using a suitable vacuum sealant tape.
For complex geometries, sufficient excess film and pleating allowance should be provided so that the film can conform to the component under vacuum without being excessively tensioned. Its high elongation at break makes PO180 particularly suitable for demanding contours.
Before starting the actual process, the complete vacuum bag should be checked for leaks.
For applications at elevated temperatures, it should be noted that the maximum service temperature of 180 °C depends on the duration of temperature exposure and the specific process conditions. Preliminary trials under the intended conditions are recommended.
Storage
Store protected from daylight and UV radiation. The storage temperature should be above 20 °C and the relative humidity at least 60%.
At low temperatures and/or low relative humidity, the film may become more brittle, which can adversely affect its airtightness.
