CARBON square tubes pultruded (10.0 x 10.0 / 8.0 x 8.0) x 500 mm (DPP™)
Pultruded CFRP square tube made of IM carbon fibres
The pultruded CFRP square tubes from DPP™ (Van Dijk Pultrusion Products) are made from IM carbon fibres (Torayca® T800) and an epoxy resin matrix.
In the pultrusion process, the carbon fibres are continuously pulled through a heated die and fully impregnated with resin. This results in high-precision CFRP profiles with unidirectional fibre orientation.
The fibres are aligned predominantly in the longitudinal direction, providing particularly high bending stiffness and tensile stiffness along the profile axis. At the same time, the process achieves a high fibre volume content of approximately 62% with very low void content.
R&G is the official distribution partner for DPP™ CFRP profiles in Germany.
Properties
- Pultruded CFRP square tube / carbon square profile
- IM carbon fibres (Torayca® T800)
- Epoxy resin matrix
- Unidirectional fibre orientation
- High fibre volume content (approx. 62 %)
- Very high stiffness and tensile strength
- Low weight
- Good dimensional accuracy
- Heat distortion resistance up to 120 °C
Advantages of IM carbon fibres
Compared with standard HT carbon fibres, IM carbon fibres offer:
- approx. 20 % higher stiffness
- approx. 25 % higher tensile strength
- almost identical elongation at break
Typical applications
CFRP square tubes are used in:
- Lightweight constructions
- Technical frame structures
- Model making and UAV structures
- Robotics
- Measuring fixtures and jigs
- Mechanical engineering
- High-stiffness structural elements
Bonding
In general, pre-treatment of the bonding surfaces is not required.
For permanent bonding, we recommend:
- Epoxy adhesives
- Cyanoacrylate adhesives (instant adhesives)
