This economical flow media supports resin and air transport across large laminate surfaces during vacuum infusion. Its three-dimensional polyester structure promotes fast resin distribution and adapts easily to a wide range of part geometries. With a width of 200 cm, it is particularly suitable for large infusion lay-ups.

Product Description

In the vacuum infusion process, the flow media distributes resin across the laminate surface and shortens the resin flow paths. Its open three-dimensional structure forms channels that allow resin and air to move efficiently through the vacuum stack.

The polyester material is flexible and can be easily cut with scissors or a knife to match the required shape. This makes it suitable for both flat and complex mould geometries.

With an areal weight of 160 g/m² and a thickness of approximately 1.2 mm, this flow media is suitable for a wide range of standard vacuum infusion applications. The 200 cm width reduces the number of joints and overlaps when processing large components.

This flow media is an economical choice for general vacuum infusion applications. Its main advantages are its large width and versatile use. Where minimum resin consumption or precisely defined flow characteristics are required, a specialised flow media may be the better choice.

Processing

The flow media is placed on top of the laminate within the vacuum bagging stack. A suitable release layer between the laminate and the flow media allows easy removal after curing. The material can be cut to shape with scissors or a knife.

When is this product the right choice?

This flow media is recommended for general vacuum infusion applications where an economical solution and a wide material width are required. If minimum resin retention or specific flow characteristics are critical, a specialised flow media should be selected.
