TeXtreme® Carbon fabric 64 g/m² VISUAL ASPECT (PW, HT), width 100 cm
USA: width 39.37", weight 1.9 oz/yd²
VISUAL ASPECT – optimized for the highest visual requirements.
This specially manufactured spread-tow (ST) fabric is produced with tighter tolerances than the standard grade to minimize gaps between fiber bands and achieve a particularly uniform surface appearance. Designed for visible carbon parts and design applications with high demands on aesthetics and pattern consistency.
Compared to the standard fabric of the same construction, additional effort is applied during manufacturing. In addition to the required mechanical performance, the focus is on achieving the most flawless possible appearance. Due to the tighter weave setting, the areal weight may be slightly higher than the standard version.

Material and laminate data
Binder content:
The EP binder increases the stated fabric weight by approx. 10 g/m².
Calculated values for hand laminates (35 vol.% fibre content):
Resin consumption: 46 g/m²
Laminate thickness: 0.064 mm
Laminate weight: 110 g/m²
These values serve as guideline figures for lightweight design calculations.
Manufacturing tolerances (manufacturer information, Oxeon)
- Maximum gap over the full roll length: 2.8 mm
- For short sections (or at the outer fabric edges): up to 4.0 mm permitted
VISUAL ASPECT is woven to tighter tolerances than the standard grade in order to keep gaps between fibre bands as small as possible, improving the visual appearance.
TeXtreme® Spread Tow Fabric – key characteristics
TeXtreme® STF is a lightweight carbon fabric designed to optimize composite components in terms of weight, mechanical performance, and surface quality.
Key benefits:
- Weight reduction of up to 20% or more possible
- Enhanced mechanical performance
- Very high surface quality
- Distinctive design aesthetics
- Easy handling and cutting due to a stable construction
Typical applications: visible carbon parts, automotive, motorsport, aerospace, sporting goods, design components.
Processing notes
- UV resistance: unlimited
- EP binder: softening starts at approx. 18 °C – improved handling at room temperature
The fabric drapes well and can be cut and laid up precisely.
Storage and shelf life
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated place at 0–30 °C
- Store rolls without load (use a rack or suitable box; the paper core must carry the full load)
- Guaranteed shelf life: 2 years from delivery date if transported, stored, and processed according to the specified requirements
Delivery
TeXtreme® fabrics are generally supplied with an interleaf film.
This prevents the layers from sticking together and helps maintain the high surface quality.
