TeXtreme® 360° Forged Carbon, 500 g/m² – for distinctive visible carbon laminates with a unique, irregular surface pattern.
Randomly oriented Spread Tow carbon tapes create a striking forged carbon appearance that differs significantly from conventional woven carbon fabrics.
TeXtreme® 360° from Oxeon is made from short, ultra-thin Spread Tow tapes arranged in different directions and stabilised with a binder. In the finished visible laminate, this creates a distinctive, irregular carbon structure rather than the familiar plain or twill weave pattern. The random tape arrangement gives each component its own individual appearance.
The material combines this distinctive design effect with the properties of a technical carbon reinforcement. Its discontinuous fibre architecture also facilitates forming over complex component contours.

Appearance, properties and processing
The randomly distributed carbon tapes create a non-repeating pattern with varying fibre orientations. In visible laminates, this produces a characteristic forged carbon appearance influenced by the resin system, surface quality and finish. Identical patterns cannot be expected across multiple components due to the random fibre distribution.
TeXtreme® 360° is a tape-based discontinuous fibre composite (DFC), not a conventional woven fabric. Its fibre architecture facilitates forming over complex geometries. The mechanical properties are comparatively balanced within the laminate plane, although the product-specific Oxeon data sheet states that the material is not fully isotropic.
The supplied format is dry and binder-stabilised. Producing a visible laminate requires a suitable resin matrix, complete fibre wet-out and careful consolidation. Resin compatibility and the manufacturing process must be matched to the binder. A uniform, low-void surface is particularly important for visible carbon components.
