Epoxy Base Set MAXI – Epoxy Resin L + Hardener L (40 min)

Epoxy Base Set MAXI – Epoxy Resin L + Hardener L (40 min)

The Epoxy Base Set MAXI is based on the proven Epoxy Resin L with Hardener L and is a low-viscosity epoxy resin system for laminating and bonding in composite construction. The set is designed for larger quantities and recurring laminating work and includes extensive accessories for processing.

The epoxy resin system is one of the most frequently used laminating and bonding resin systems in the R&G product range and is used for glass fibre, carbon fibre and aramid fibre applications. The solvent-free and filler-free epoxy resin is free of nonylphenol and DETA. Its low surface tension ensures reliable adhesion to various substrates with low curing shrinkage.

Epoxy Resin L with Hardener L achieves mechanical properties comparable to laminating systems used in aircraft construction. It is suitable for structurally loaded laminates as well as for bonding wood, metal and Styropor®.

Set contents

1 × Epoxy Resin L + Hardener L (40 min), pack, 1 kg
25 × Paper mixing cups, 300 ml
20 × Wooden mixing sticks (250 × 15 × 3 mm)
10 × Laminating brushes, 20 mm

Working time

The working time is approx. 40 minutes at a 100 g mix and a processing temperature of 20 °C, allowing controlled processing in manual and vacuum-assisted methods.

Mixing ratio (Epoxy Resin L : Hardener L)

100 : 40 parts by weight Resin L : Hardener L
100 : 45 parts by volume Resin L : Hardener L

Curing and temperature resistance

Curing time at 23 °C: approx. 24 hours
Post-curing (warm cure): optional
Heat deflection resistance: approx. 70 °C
Maximum heat deflection resistance: up to approx. 80 °C with an additional post-cure of 15 hours at 60 °C

Processing methods

The epoxy resin system is suitable for common processing methods including hand lay-up, pressure and vacuum impregnation, pressing and filament winding.

Mechanical properties (neat resin, cured)

Flexural strength (DIN EN ISO 178): 111 MPa
Flexural modulus (DIN EN ISO 178): 2950 MPa
Tensile strength (DIN EN ISO 527): 69 MPa
Compressive strength (DIN EN ISO 14126): 91 MPa
Hardness: Shore D 90
Elongation at break (DIN EN ISO 178): 5.9 %

Suitability for medical technology

A CYTOX report is available for the resin system Epoxy Resin L + Hardener L. The system is non-cytotoxic (not cell-damaging) and therefore suitable for applications in medical technology (see additional information for details).
