Optiveil™ Glass non-woven 30 g/m², width 127 cm
USA: width 39.37", weight 0.9 oz/yd²
E-glass surfacing veil for durable composite surfaces
The Optiveil™ glass veil 30 g/m² is a high-quality wet-laid nonwoven made from short E-glass fibres and developed specifically for use in advanced composite structures. Its uniform fibre distribution and highly porous structure provide excellent resin uptake and even wet-out.
The areal weight of 30 g/m² provides greater material thickness and strength than lighter surfacing veils. It is therefore particularly suitable for composite components requiring a pronounced resin-rich surface layer and increased durability.
Optiveil™ glass veil supports the production of uniform, high-quality component surfaces. It can be used both as a surface layer in GRP, CFRP and other fibre-reinforced laminates and as a lightweight carrier for resins, adhesives and other functional materials.
The glass veil is compatible with all common composite manufacturing processes, including hand lay-up, vacuum infusion, RTM, RIM, compression moulding, filament winding and pultrusion.
Its good temperature and corrosion resistance, high thermal stability and dielectric properties make the glass veil suitable for demanding applications in mould making, boatbuilding, automotive engineering, aerospace and industrial lightweight construction.
